Did you know there’s a lot more to Las Palmas than the city? For Las Palmas is the name of the province which houses Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote. Continuing with our Fuerteventura coverage, we report on the latest developments relating to one of our favourite hotels on the island, Corralejo’s Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real.
Mr Gran Canaria Local can’t remember his last summer holiday. It was that long ago. But before you start to feel too sorry for him, allow us to reveal where he spent July.
That month he was sent by Telegraph Travel to review a selection of Fuerteventura’s hotels. Discover what he made of the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real here. Spoiler alert: he wasn’t surprised to hear about the hotel’s recent success at the Condé Nast Johansens annual awards for excellence, especially because of its fantastic setting which made him feel as he was holidaying in a Dorne not caught up in the Game of Thrones.
Autumn has been quite the awards season in Las Palmas province as in September, the Seaside Grand Hotel Residence was announced as the best TUI hotel in the world. Nearby Bohemia Suites & Spa were another to be recognized by Condé Nast Johansens. Which brings us back to Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real’s triumph, in the Best European & The Mediteranean Waterside Hotel category.
